Five Favorite: Hair Shampoo

Five Favorite: Hair Shampoo

Hi!!

I’m continuing my Five Favorite series with a new theme: shampoo!!! I’m kinda crazy about shampoo, like I have a million different ones that I just love to try. Some I love, and others did not even make half the cut! So these are honestly my favorite brands, I suggest to get the matching conditioner too!

***Disclosure: I received products in exchange for a review (they will be marked C/O), all opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links- all proceeds go solely to Hey! Wendy Vanessa.

My hair type: I have thick, color-treated, straight hair. It hold up curls well and I wash it every other day. I let you know my hair type because some products work better on different hair types, therefore I want to be as honest as I can with my hair. The way I judge shampoos: smell, texture it leaves, does it dry or hydrate, and does it make my hair brassy faster?

Pantene Moisture Renewal

Pantene has been my favorite brand ever since… day one. I do believe you have to experiment with each formula to see which one works for you. As of now, my favorite Pantene product is The Moisture Renewal line. My sister (who has super curly hair) uses it as well, and she loves it! Since I shower at night, I use it with the matching conditioner, so when I wake up the next morning, my hair has the most beautiful natural waves.

Clairol Shimmer Lights

This is for the blondies out her. Shimmer Lights is a purple shampoo that takes away the brassiness from your hair, making your gray and blonde stay the same color. This product is so inexpensive and does wonders for anyone who dyed their hair blonde or gray. I use it once or twice a week, basically every other wash, just so I can keep my hair from drying out.

Nexxus Therappe (C/O)

Nexxus is also a brand that takes me way back. Honestly, when I apply the Nexxus Therappe shampoo, it reminds me of the time I went to Alabama and my family rented out a condo on the beach for the weekend. It honestly smells like summer days. This shampoo is also good to help keep your hair moisturized after you have done some damage to it… aka dye it blonde every 3rd month (yep, that is me).

Kevin Murphy Plumping Wash

Honestly, I’m a sucker for brands that smell delicious, and Kevin Murphy is one of them. Did you know it was also cruelty free? I know, I already have thick hair, but this Plumping Wash is just soo good! I found out about this wash online, while I was taking a quiz from Kevin Murphy. It generates the best KM products for your hair, if you love Kevin Murphy, I suggest you taking this quiz for yourself!

Living Proof Full Shampoo

Another one of my favorites. I purchased Living Proof Full Shampoo when the brand was just launching, I really was intrigued by the product and I had gotten a job that allowed me to spend money on “luxurious” products. Living Proof is great to give you a quick volume- when you want to have sultry beach waves, or whether you’re about to have a great hair do.
