I’m 5’1″. The one inch comes from a doctor telling me so, as opposed to the others telling me I’m a quarter short of the inch. So, I’m just going to go with 5’1″, it’s way easier to say and write. I chuckle when people tell me I look taller in photos, and when I meet them, they are surprised I am pint-sized haha. I’ve rounded up a couple of tips to help all the petite girls out there, or any woman in general, to help them look, and feel taller.
- Wear high rise jeans. I love wearing high rise jeans, they hug my waist and make my torso look longer than it really is. This also helps my body look more curvy than it actually is. This goes along with a-line skirts- you know these skirts will fall right at your ankle, but if you wear them to the waist, it gives an optical illusion that you have legs for days!
- Wear crop tops. Don’t worry, you don’t have to wear a crop top that will show off your belly button haha. (Most crop tops fall a bit below my belly button anyway.) I’m also talking about the tops that land right at the hips. There is a large selection of these tops, trust me. If you don’t have crop tops, find t-shirts that falls a bit below your zipper/button at home and tie a knot on a t-shirt. Tie it at the waistline with high-waisted jeans! That is what I’m wearing below.
- Wear heels. Or anything with a heel tbh. This of course is my trademark. I was told the other day that I’ll wear heels no matter what. This is a preference, and to be honest, I feel more confident when I have that umph in my step. As a petite woman, it can be hard to feel “average” when all you do is look up to people. Yea, I probably still do when I wear heels, but it makes a difference! Also, when you wear heels it tightens up your leg muscles a tad bit, so if you want a hack to make your legs more toned, there it is!
