Things to do in Los Angeles

Writing this blog post has provided two things: hunger, and wanting to book the quickest flight to LA asap. Luckily, I’ll be there in a couple of weeks again, so I am thrilled! I traveled with Matt, and boy does he love going to amazing places. He is a true trekker, traveler, and he never gets tired! Idk how he does it, I know I  took multiple naps throughout the day. Check out this very long post to very amazing locations in Los Angeles. If you stop by LA, go everywhere on the list below.

Matt and I were so lucky to have the 2016 Mazda CX-9 Signature AWD to drive us around in the city filled with crazy traffic, and unfamiliar terrain. This vehicle fits up to seven people, but we put down the back seats to give ourselves room for shopping and luggage. Trust me, we needed that extra cargo space for sure! The smooth ride and heated seats were perfect when traffic got heavy.

**Thank you Mazda for providing us a vehicle to drive in this amazing city.

Malibu Farm

Omg. Brunch with a VIEW. Matt and I went a little overboard when we ordered from Malibu Farm, actually, I went a little overboard. This boutique restaurant is on it’s own pier settled on the most perfect beach you can imagine, catch the waves, sip some coffee, enjoy a meal. Just. go. here.

Getty Museum

I honestly wasn’t expecting much when I entered the Getty Museum, and honestly, I feel so ashamed! So, if you love museums and you love seeing incredible exhibits, this place is for you. If you’re artsy, and enjoy amazing architecture, please GO HERE. The building itself is a dream! Matt and I spent the same amount exploring the building as looking at the exhibits.

One of my favorite feature of the Mazda brand is the donation aspect. Mazda donates to a charity of your choice when you test drive a vehicle. There is nothing better than giving back to a community! If you test drive a vehicle, you’re doing good and giving back to society.

Shop: Abbot Kinney and Melrose

Somehow we eventually ended up on Melrose multiple times, and each time I did, I discovered more amazing features and details. There are multiple walls with different artistic features. The stores range from women’s boutiques, home decor, and sneaker shops, lots of sneaker shops! Abbot Kinney was a one stop street for us, but I really wish we were there longer, to be honest. We ate, and shopped, and enjoyed the amazing California weather! Our favorite places: Aust., Junk Food Clothing, and Blue Bottle. Oh yeah! It was Australia Day when we stopped by, and we tried some vegiemite… Not sure how I feel about that, I believe it is an acquired taste.

Olive and Thyme

Matt and I like to eat, and we like to eat good. Of course, we had to go to Olive and Thyme. This place was packed during lunch hour. Stop by for a soup or sandwich, this place is great for a quick meeting or a fun get together with the gals! Ok, totally wishing there was one in Houston.

Sunset Ranch

Matt is such a sweetie poo! (He’s going to hate that I put that.) He surprised me to go horseback riding along the Hollywood hills! One, I kind of feared for my life because we were literally riding on the edge of the cliff, and two, it was my first time riding a horse! We went right when the sun was setting, so we caught the most amazing view of LA. It was indeed beautiful. PS… we did not take any photos, but we got one of this pretty horse!
