Yesterday, my friends and I took part in a one-day trip to Yosemite. Yes. ONE day. It was a very busy day indeed. I wanted to show you our adventure and give you some advice on what to do if you plan on going to Yosemite.
**Thank you Mazda for providing us a vehicle to drive during this trip.
So our day started off quite early (not really) at 8 am. We trusted the handy dandy Waze app that took us through the scariest ride of our life. It took us through twists, turns, we were even driving at the edge of the cliff at some points. Although the ride was scary, the Mazda CX-9 helped us have a smooth ride throughout the trip.
The rest of the trip was a dream. We played with snow, go drenched by the mist, took amazing pictures. And just like that… we headed back to Dixon aka home base. I was scared our ride was going to take the crazy twists and turns, but thankfully, we took a completely route. Thank you Google Maps!
Some tips and tricks for Yosemite:
- Layer. I didn’t know what to take, the weather was in the 50’s but it did get really cold at times. The best thing I did was wear many layers that I could easily take off and add on at whatever moment.
- Ask for directions, if it weren’t for the pit stop at the gas station, we would have had a lovely encounter with closed roads!
- Want to stay there longer than a day? Check out the Half Dome. There is a $30 fee that is valid for a week, so no matter how long you are staying, you will pay that fee per week.
