Get Ready With Me – Wedding Edition

Hey! Wendy Vanessa / Get Ready Wedding

The day finally arrived! It couldn’t have come any sooner.

What was going through my  brain during the morning of my wedding day? SO much actually.

It all started at 4 am when I woke up freaking out so I called Amy, my MOH and she prayed for me. Later, my mom and Ashley also prayed another prayer (I REALLY needed it lol) and off we went!

My biggest fear was driving through the freeway. Long story short, I was on the brink of a panic attack and somehow, not getting on HWY 59, was the best way for me to stay calm. Since it was a Friday, traffic was still pretty hectic. So I opened Google Maps and WOAH THERE – Maps told me to go a completely different route. Thank God! I realized that was God’s way of protecting me on my way there. On our way, we stopped by Target and Jamba Juice. I wanted to tell everyone there that I was getting married, but I didn’t because I’m way too much of an introvert to do that lol. It took us probably two hours to get there, but it was well worth it to me.

Upon arrival, I needed a peaceful setting where I could focus and all of us having a good time. The anxiety wanted to creep up, so we turned on worship music, snacked and enjoyed  the moment. At times, I felt complete peace and other times, I needed Jesus to help me stay calm.

One of the favorite things about arriving early was getting to enjoy the venue to its fullest, without having to worry if Matt was going to be there. I pranced along the wedding venue, seeing the place come to life; all of the months of planning and thinking was becoming reality. I welcomed and chatted with our vendors and our day of coordinator was taking care of all the kinks that needed to be tended to. Honestly, it was the perfect setting to get ready for my big day.

The feeling of getting ready is so indescribable because you have so much going through your head. You’re excited, happy, nervous, want everyone to have a good time, but looking back at these photos, you see the true peace and joy that was surrounding me that day.

Shout out to shop.bash for providing my bridesmaids and mom’s robes. They were super comfy and the girls looked great wearing them <3
