Mexico City AirBnb Review

In October of 2021, Matt and I planned a trip to Mexico City followed by a beach getaway in Cancun – after long months of big transitions and work being a little busier than usual, we definitely needed this escape!

We stayed in Roma, a quiet friendly neighborhood filled with mom and pop restaurants and coffee shops. The instructions from the AirBnB host was to meet with the restaurant owner who guides you to the front door that leads to two apartments upstairs. Our interaction with the host was through the AirBnB app and she answered all of our questions as soon as she could.

We felt very safe in the neighborhood and our apartment. In order to get inside, we had to unlock two doors – one on the first floor, to get upstairs and another after we went upstairs and arrived to our apartment. We heard multiple languages in Roma – French, English, etc!

The entrance has a a really cute reading bench with a stunning tree that I cannot identify. The natural glass makes the home so bright and airy.

When you head straight to the kitchen and dining area, you will see a beautiful handmade table, a stove, a refrigerator, and a sink. It is furnished with pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. There is a loft upstairs that really doesn’t have much unless you want to hang out on the roof. Although the apartment is the perfect size, I do believe this loft space was a missed opportunity for all involved.

The bedroom has a beautiful king bed in the middle with a beautiful balcony with Juliette doors – perfect when the smell of fresh Mexican bread is being baked in the morning.

I loved the closet corner that the hosts provided. We stored most of our luggage here and hung anything we knew we’re wearing the next day.

The bathroom was so cozy! My favorite part was the small window we would open – we got to hear local artist play music in the evening from up there!

I loved traveling to Mexico City! It’s definitely a place I would love to visit again – either for a quick trip or a long getaway. I will be staying at this airbnb again, because it was the perfect place to stay!

Be on the lookout for the Mexico City trip video – it’s going to be amazing!
